Eric Donkin & Neil Vipond in The Guardsman.

Overview

And actor and his actress wife, after having been married for six months, have already come to troubled ways. He is jealous and suspicious, and has invented a test of his wife's fidelity. He walks beneath her window dressed as a guardsman and comes to visit her. She protests that she loves her husband, but in the same breath she leads the ardent young man on. The actor suddenly returns from a supposed journey and seems to find his wife on the point of a rendezvous. Behind the screen of his costume trunk he puts on the costume of the guardsman and confronts her. She has seen through his disguise, from the start, she says, by his kiss, and by his ardent eyes. They malign one another's acting, they weep, and finally they make it all up. For advanced casts. Especially recommended to Little Theatres and colleges.
