This guide assists educators in preparing their students for the theatre visit and suggests follow-up work after the performance.
A Theatre Calgary Staff member may be available to visit your school before your students see the play. These visits can be highly motivating and informative sessions. The visits can last from 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of students and the type of material being presented. We will try to tailor the visit to your class size and available time.
Pre-Show Chats are available upon request.
If you have any questions or special concerns about the content of the play, you may borrow a reading copy of the script. Theatre Calgary would be happy to provide additional information.
Immediately following all student matinees, some members of the cast will return to the stage for an informal question and answer session with the audience members who wish to stay. These sessions are approximately 15-20 minutes in length. If you are seated in the balcony areas, please move to the main floor as close to the stage as possible.

11:30 am. The doors to the lobby will be open at 11:00 am and we will start seating students at this time. We advise you to arrive at the theatre no later than 11:00 am. Immediately beginning at 11:30 am, there will be a welcome greeting from a Theatre Calgary staff member.
If you require parking, please inquire through Calgary Parking Authority prior to your attendance.
We do not issue individual tickets for each student. Seat numbers are submitted to the Front of House department prior to your attendance and your seating is assigned the day of the performance. Front of house staff members will be present and will direct your group to their seats, to fill the house as effectively as possible.
Food, beverages, gum, iPods, cell phones, cameras and any recording devices are not allowed in the theatre. Please ensure that your students are aware of this.
The Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts is a Non-Smoking Building.
We request that students do not leave the lobby areas during the intermission. If students leave the theatre and are late returning, they may not be able to get back into the auditorium once the second act begins. House Manager warnings for intermission cannot be heard outside the lobby areas.
Theatre Programs are handed out after the performance at coat check.
