Theatre Calgary is proud to partner with Enbridge to present FUSE 2010 - The Enbridge New Play Development Program. FUSE is dedicated to the development of new plays that have the potential to be produced on the Theatre Calgary stage, with the goal to launch these works nationally and internationally.

We invite you to play a key role in the development process as each script workshop will feature a free public presentation. Your feedback can have a dramatic effect on the creative direction of these new works. Come be a part of Theatre Calgary’s future!

 

LOST- A Memoir

Calgary author Cathy Ostlere’s haunting and lyrical memoir portrays one woman’s odyssey to discover the truth behind her brother’s mysterious disappearance at sea. Lost- A Memoir is a classic adventure story, a journey of inner discovery and a tribute to those who are lost, literally and figuratively.  Theatre Calgary is proud to partner with the Banff Centre to continue the development of this inspiring new play in anticipation of the world premiere production in the 2010-2011 season.

 

FORTITUDE! or: An Utterly Meaningless Waste of Time

It’s WWII and the Allied forces have a dangerous and secret plan turn the tide of the war. In order to convince the German army that a fake military post is an ideal target, a small group of soldiers and a troupe of actors must work together to create a show like no other. Fortitude brings a new meaning to the phrase “theatre of war.” This heartwarming and hilarious play emerged from the 2008-09 FUEL Playwrights’ Circle at Theatre Calgary.

Okonkwo is a respected leader and family-man in an Igbo village in Nigeria. He rules his heart and his large family with pride and an iron fist. As his own tragic actions threaten his position among his people and village, the arrival of European missionaries threaten to destroy more than one man’s way of life. They threaten to remove the Gods from their heavens and change the world forever. Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart is one of the most studied and widely-read African novels of all time. Join Calgary author Cheryl Foggo as she adapts this powerful story for the stage.

 

DAVE KELLY – UNPLUGGED AND UNDONE
