The Directors’ Circle


Under the supervision of the Artistic Director, up to four directors are invited to participate in the program for the duration of the Theatre Calgary’s season. During that time, each participant will work as an Assistant Director on one Theatre Calgary production. The Director’s Circle will meet as a group on a regular basis throughout the season as an opportunity to share creative insights and observations about the art of direction.

Each participating director will receive a $2,000 honorarium and be considered members of the Theatre Calgary Artistic Company throughout the season of their participation.

How to Apply and Additional Information:

 
•    Applicants are asked to submit a résumé and letter of introduction outlining their interest in the program.
•    Directors should have a demonstrated commitment to their craft with a strong interest in directing within the large stage environment.
•    Directors with at least one professional or semi-professional directing credit will receive primary consideration.
•    Travel and any additional related expenses are the responsibility of the participating director.
•    Members of the Directors’ Circle may be asked to take part in Theatre Calgary’s Audience Outreach and Education programs.

Information and dates for applying for 2010-11 will be available in the spring of 2010.
