Cool Yule

A very special performance of A Christmas Carol
Sunday, November 15, 2009
Reception at 5:30 p.m.
Performance at 7:00 p.m.

This special event hosts over 400 guests and is supported by volunteers, production cast and crew, Theatre Calgary staff, and corporate supporters. The entire evening is made possible through the generous support of Fluor Canada and includes:
−    a pre-show reception with refreshments and professionally catered hors d’oeuvres (designed for children)
−    a visit and gifts from Santa, crafts organized by our volunteers
−    family photos with Santa and the cast
−    after the show, the presentation of an autographed special edition poster to the children in attendance by the cast of A Christmas Carol

It is difficult for most of us to comprehend that, for some families, this may be their last Christmas together. This private presentation is the only one of its kind in Calgary and provides families with the opportunity to have the holiday experience that many of us take for granted.

Since 1998, Theatre Calgary has joined with the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta to bring the magic of Christmas to a very special audience through Cool Yule, a private performance of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol for newly diagnosed children, families in treatment, grieving families trying to cope with loss, and families celebrating recovery.

A private performance is required for these young individuals as they are unable to attend a regular performance due to compromised immune systems resulting from illness and treatment.
