Join the cast of volunteers and give the gift of time. Theatre Calgary is a not-for-profit organization that relies on volunteers to help raise the curtain. Volunteers are required throughout the year for the following programs and events.
Theatre Calgary is proud to have over 600 volunteers, some of whom have been with us for 25 years or more. But there is always room for more! This volunteer opportunity requires a full season commitment from September to April/May. Responsibilities include ushering our patrons to their seats, scanning tickets, and attending to the coat check, among other duties.
Front of House volunteers are trained on the job and may not always perform the same job, giving you an opportunity to learn about all aspects of the Front of House. Most often, you as a volunteer will only be asked to come once a play, but there are exceptions based on the length of the run and availability of volunteers.
Volunteers for Front of House must be able to climb up and down stairs due to the many stairwells in the theatre. A dress code applies and is strictly enforced.
